    I read that characters arrive before the MKopens to greet early arriving guests. Is that only the extra hours option for resort guests? We are staying off-site and wanted to know if we have the option of the see the characters at that time.

    Hi Amy,

    Welcome to the Moms Panel!  The opening ceremony at the Magic Kingdom is really cute, and a perfect way to start the day!  This typically happens about 15 minutes prior to the park opening, regardless of the park opening time.  You do not have to be a resort guest, as it performed on non-extra magic hour days as well (weather permitting).  So as long as you arrive a little early, you'll be sure to see the ceremony.  It takes place on the train platform above the main entrance.
