Hi Moms! I've read about the changes to the DDP but could you give more detail. For example substituting snack for dessert at QS. Is that for snack there or credit for later? Also please explain the QS credit for snacks? Thanks again for your help!

    Hi Dawn!

The changes to the Disney Dining Plan are confusing since there isn't an official announcement.  There are lots of blog sites where you can read what the changes are, but nothing is official until it comes from Walt Disney World.

That being said, I did take advantage of exchanging a couple of my Quick-Service credits for snacks.  This is only available at participating locations though.  The rule is that you can trade one Quick-Service credit for 3 snacks. You must pick all 3 snacks in one transaction.  You can do a Google search for "Orlando Parks News Snack Credit" to see a list of current participating locations.  This is subject to change as it is up to the discretion of the location to participate or not.  I picked up my snacks from Disney's Candy Cauldron in Downtown Disney.

During one of my meals at a Quick-Service restaurant in a resort, I was told I have the option of substituting my drink and dessert for any items that are considered a snack.  Since I had the Rapid Refill mugs, I didn't need a drink, so it was nice to pick up an extra snack instead.  So I was able to pick out two snacks in lieu of my dessert and drink per meal.

Most desserts at Quick-Service restaurants are considered snacks, so you are able to use a snack credit to pick up a dessert.

    Have a magical day!
