Hi there, Robyn!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Your Disney Cruise Line vacation will be here before you know it and I am sure you are eagerly anticipating all the fun you will have with Captain Mickey onboard and in the Bahamas!
Castaway Cay is one of my favorite places to visit on a Disney Cruise Line vacation and I always start my day there with the Castaway Cay 5K! It is a perfect way to see the island AND get a great workout in before heading to the beach for the day! Plus, you get a fun medal at the finish line which makes for a great souvenir. The Castaway Cay 5K is reserved for Guests ages 10 and older and registration is done once onboard at Guest Services. If you plan on participating, make sure to stop by Guest Services soon after you get onboard to secure your race bib and spot! If you happen to have Mouseketeers traveling with you that are not quite old enough to participate, you can drop them off at Scuttle’s Cove, Castaway Cay’s on-island Youth Club before making your way to the starting point! Then, after completing your run (or walk), you can head back to the ship or head straight to the beach to find your spot for the day!
There are always lots of fun activities going on throughout your day at Castaway Cay, so be sure to check the
Navigator app for a full schedule of events and entertainment! We always look forward to the Family Whale Dig and the crab races!
Wishing you a magical adventure at sea, Robyn! Oh, and don’t forget to hydrate before and during your run! I know you are likely used to the Texas humidity, but boy oh boy does it get humid in the Bahamas!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
