Heather from WV Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have read a book on Disney organization. I am confused a bit about lightening lanes. Do I buy the lightening lane then make sure to choose rides 7 days prior at 7 am or do I have to wait to buy them until 7am also?

How ya doin', Heather, and welcome back to planDisney!

As your trip draws ever nearer, I'm glad to see you're fine-tuning those last details. It looks like your family will be using Lightning Lane Multi Pass to make your park days as smooth as possible. I know that 7 day booking window opening up at 7 AM can trip you up if you've never done it before. Let's get those logistics unjumbled for smooth sailing into the parks.

On the day your booking window opens, 7 AM Eastern Standard Time is the magic hour.

What to do before 7 AM:
Have Lightning Lane Multi Pass purchased for all members of your travel party.
Be linked in the Friends and Family List in your My Disney Experience app

What to do at 7 AM:
Book your first 3 Lightning Lanes for each day of your visit.
Purchase any Lightning Single Passes that you may want in addition to your other options.

Heather, I'm wishing you all the pixie dust possible as your day approaches. May all of your Lightning Lane wishes come true.  Come back for another chat so we can talk strategy and maximize those options!

    Good luck!
    Taylor
