Hi. I have read that you should arrive 30-45 minutes prior to park opening times....why is that? We will already have our park tickets. Also if we want to eat at rainforest cafe or TH at AK will we be able to eat prior to park opening?

Julie, my guess is they are referring to "rope drop". This is the term used for the special show that "opens" the park. Many guests like to get there early for it. Once the show is over, the "rope drops" and the guests are allowed into the parks. By no means is this a mandatory event and if you feel like taking your time in the morning, feel free to do so. However, if you are able to make the show at Magic Kingdom, it is definitely worth it to see it at least once!

Rainforest Cafe and Tusker House both offer reservations prior to park opening. If you are able to get one of these times, you would simply go to the specially marked entrance at Disney's Animal Kingdom and have your confirmation number and park tickets available. The cast member will then let you into the park so you can head to the restaurant. This is a really fun time to go in. Even though the attractions will not be open, it makes for a perfect photo op of the Tree of Life with virtually no crowds in the pictures.

I hope this helps you plan your itinerary accordingly. Have a magical vacation and may the memories you make be abundant!
