Can we reactivate magic bands from previous trips or is there a battery time limit on how long those work for? Also if we purchase a couple more magic bands in Disney springs and activate them that day will they work the next day in Animal Kingdom?

    Hi Tina!  Welcome to planDisney.

MagicBands are my favorite vacation accessory!  They make it so easy to access my theme park admission, scan to enter Lightning Lane experiences booked with Disney Genie+ service, link Disney PhotoPass photos to my account, and charge food and merchandise purchases to my room account when staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

MagicBands are reusable.  You can check to see if your MagicBands are listed as active in your My Disney Experience account under "My MagicBands and Cards".  If not, simply click the button to activate.  You are welcome to use any and all active MagicBands linked to your profile interchangeably -- they will work with your new reservations and tickets.  No additional linking is necessary.  Battery life for a MagicBand is estimated to be about 2 years, but this only applies to the long-range battery, for things like "automagically" linking your on-ride Disney PhotoPass photos to your account or special surprises at certain locations, such as your name and hometown appearing on concert poster in the queue for Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith.  Even if the long-range battery is no longer working, your MagicBands should still work fine at any "Mickey to Mickey" touchpoints, such as theme park entrance tapstyles or merchandise checkout machines, similar to "tap to pay" credit card readers.

If you would like to purchase additional MagicBands at Disney Springs, you'll be able to link them to your account by entering the numbers found on the underside of the band.  Once linked, your new MagicBands should work immediately.

As long as someone in your immediate traveling party has a newer MagicBand, your Disney PhotoPass photos should automatically link to your account.  Another option would be to create a Disney MagicMobile pass via the My Disney Experience mobile app.  Photos can link to your account using Bluetooth technology.

I hope that helps!  Please let us know if you have any additional questions.  Enjoy your visit!
