Hey there, Keith. Thanks for dropping by
planDisney with your question.
If you have an old
MagicBand from a previous trip, you can absolutely use it on your next
Walt Disney World vacation. Out of curiosity, did you deactivate that particular MagicBand? If you simply took it off when you got home from your last Walt Disney World vacation and put it in a drawer, then it should still be activated and good to go for your next trip. However, if you did indeed deactivate it, then we will need to turn the functionality back on. To do this, you are first going to log in to your
MyDisneyExperience account. Then, you'll hover your cursor over the MyDisneyExperience logo on the top right-hand corner of the screen. This is going to open a drop-down menu and you'll want to click on the "My MagicBands and Cards" option. Scroll down to the "Manage MagicBand and Cards" section and click on the name of the person you want to check the status of the MagicBand for. Under all of your MagicBands you are going to see the option to "Activate/Deactivate" depending on the status and the option to "Report Lost". If your MagicBand is currently deactivated, you'll just select the "Activate" button and it will be good to go. If it is still active from your last trip, in that place you'll instead see the option to "Deactivate" which in that case you'll want to just leave it be.
Keith, after reactivating your MagicBand you should be able to use it just fine while you are on vacation at Walt Disney World. Keep in mind that MagicBands are not transferrable so you'll want to be sure you are using the right one for you on your next trip. I hope you are able to check the status of your MagicBand with ease.
If you have any other questions about this or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Good luck!
