We"re visiting WDW in August as a belated celebration for our son's 5th birthday which is actually in July. Can we still let the staff know that we are there celebrating his birthday even though it was the month before.

    Hi Richard,

In my opinion, you certainly can and I hope you do.  I have many times not been able to travel to WDW right on my daughters birthday but if I have gone within the month prior or following her Birthday I have always celebrated it at WDW.  Go ahead and get your son his complimentary "Birthday Button" and if a Cast Member asks if it is his "actual" Birthday"  when he is wearing it, all he has to say is it was a few weeks ago, but we are celebrating it now.  I would suggest he wears the button everywhere you go within WDW for the duration of your trip so he may have the chance to experience a little "extra" Pixie Dust along the way from some Cast Members in various locations (you never know what surprises he may encounter!).  I hope your family has a wonderfully magical trip and Happy Birthday to your son!

    Best wishes,
    Brigitta
