Michelle from England Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have a re reservation linked to my account but can’t find the option to purchase a discounted magic band only to link one. What am I doing wrong?

Hi Michelle! It's so great to have you stop by planDisney with your question!

It is never too early to start planning your next Walt Disney World holiday! With everything that goes into creating a magical Disney getaway, the more time you have to plan, the better prepared for your trip you will be! You picked a great time of the year to visit! May typically has a couple of things going for it, mainly the weather and the moderate crowd levels. The temperature in May is usually on the warmer side and tends not to be as hot as it is in the middle of summer.

I'm excited you have decided to stay in a Disney Resorts Hotel during your holiday! There are many benefits to staying in one, especially being a part of the magic for the duration of your stay. It seems like you have taken the correct steps to link your Disney Resort to your My Disney Experience account. This enables you to take advantage of the perks awarded to you for your stay.

At this time, Guests visiting from Great Britain are unable to preorder any type of MagicBands before their arrival. I understand this is not the news that you were hoping to hear, but since the phased reopening, this is a service that has yet to return. If you want to purchase a new MagicBand for this trip, you will have a few options once you arrive to do so.

Upon arriving at the Orlando International Airport, there are a few shops at the airport that sell MagicBands. I have seen a small variety here to choose from, so it's possible to purchase new bands before even arriving onsite. If you can wait until you arrive at your resort, stop by the gift shop to check on their inventory. You should find a much different variety here than you did previously. There are also plenty of merchandise locations all over the parks and resorts that will have MagicBands for sale!

Since these MagicBands are not pre-ordered, you'll need to link them to your My Disney Experience account once purchased. Similar to how you linked your resort accommodations to your account, you'll do the same for your MagicBands. Open the My Disney Experience App and tap on the three horizontal bars on the bottom right of your screen and then select "Your MagicBands and More". Scroll down to "Link Your MagicBand or Card" and enter the ID Number located on the back of the band.

Michelle, there are many merchandise locations throughout all of the parks, resorts, and Disney Springs. If you have any older MagicBands from previous trips, I would bring them along with you to use at the start of the trip, then take your time checking out these locations the first day or so to find the perfect band for yourself!

I hope this information helps you plan for your next stay! Stop back to see me any time at planDisney with additional planning questions!
