Re: renovations in Mex, can you eat outside or is this still just for QS? Is this a good spot to view Illuminations? We usually do our around the world tour (sampling libations) and watch from UK/Canada area. In your opinion, what's the best spot? Thanx!

Hi ya, Lori! Good to hear from you again. If by "libations," you mean, um, "adult beverages," I'm thinking you can get the best of both worlds by taking in Illuminations in Mexico.

You have two dining options in Mexico with Illuminations viewing potential - both are kinda under the same roof. La Hacienda is the indoor table service restaurant. Most tables have a good vantage point for viewing Illuminations. Plus, the lights are dimmed and the music is piped in to enhance the experience.

The other Illuminations-viewing option (with food and beverage) in Mexico is the quick service restaurant, La Cantina, which has the outdoor eating area. Your view will be a little better and more natural, but you have to claim a table hours in advance of Illuminations.

I'm not the kind of guy to wait several hours for a viewing spot (unless I need to charge my smartphone.) So, ultimately, I prefer a 7:30 p.m. ADR at La Hacienda. It's got good predictability and good tequila. What more could a dad ask for?
