Glad to have you back, Marcy!
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a great location to spectate from. Not only is there considerably less people, there is access to clean restrooms - always a bonus!
However, there are a few caveats to consider when choosing this location.
- Spectators are more than welcome! But be aware, transportation by vehicle to this "Grand" resort will be restricted beginning at 5am due to race road closers.
- Table service breakfast will be available beginning at 7:00am at the Grand Floridian Cafe and 8:00am at 1900 Park Fare. Their best option may be Gasparilla Island Grill, a quick service location available 24/7. Once you know your starting corral, it will be easier to determine when you may be passing by, as Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is located along the course at mile seven. This will help determine at what time you could possibly book an advanced dining reservation.
I'd like to suggest considering the Magic Kingdom as a spectator spot. If you're staying at a Walt Disney World® Resort Hotel, they'll be able to take event transportation to the Start Zone Area and then take the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. Not only will the ambience be magical, albeit more crowded, but no theme park ticket is required! Once you pass through, they could take the Monorail to the Grand Floridian for breakfast, and then take it back to Epcot® to meet you at the finish line.
If you'd more information on spectator locations, visit runDisney.com and select the SPECTATOR tab from the
Disney Princess Half Marathon homepage.
I hope this is helpful, Marcy! Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.
Happy Planning!
