? re: Pirates League. Can anyone tell me if the Mermaid Package has been extended through to September? Thank you.

    Hi Jana,

The Pirates League is an awesome experience for all buccaneers over the age of three - love it!  One of my sons did this last week and while we were there, I specifically asked if they were extending the Mermaid Transformation Package past July 2, 2011.  They told me that they didn't know - it would depend on "what the head pirate decided".

I'll say this - I saw a young lady transformed into a mermaid while we were there.  I also saw a couple of other young ladies join the pirates crew with the Empress Package. If I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Empress Package (unless you are attending Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party & planned this as part of a costume).  Don't get me wrong, the Cast Members did a great job with the Mermaid Transformation but the pirate look was way cool and recognizable to everyone. If you saw someone walking around with the mermaid make-up and didn't know about The Pirates League, you might think she was a fish out of water (pun intended).

If you think you may be interested in the Empress package, I'd book ASAP. This is a very popular experience with good reason - its awesome - if you wait too long, I'd be afraid there won't be any availability for anything and that ship will have sailed (sorry - last pun I promise).  Reservations are accepted beginning 180 days prior to your trip by calling 407-WDW-CREW.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.  Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
