I have a rather skittish 3 year old son who loves dinosaurs. Would the T Rex restaurant at DD be too scary for him? We took him to Rainforest Cafe 2 years ago and he hated it, but I'm hoping now that he's older he would like the T Rex restaurant.

    Hi Taura,

I took my boys (ages 5 and 7) along with Disney Mom Margaret's boys to TRex at Downtown Disney on our last trip and they all loved it.  My kids are both huge dinosaur fans, and enjoyed visiting the "Build-a-Dino" shop before our meal and making a new friend to bring home.  The restaurant is incredibly well-themed and has a very large, varied menu with lots of choices for young children.  I will say, however, that, similar to Rainforest Cafe, it does get loud, as you periodically here dinosaurs roaring during your meal.  In fact, I would say the "volume" at the restaurant is similar to that at Rainforest Cafe, however, you are hearing dinos rather than tropical animals and a passing storm.  I'm guessing that, like my children, two years makes a big difference for your son.  You might try bringing him into the gift shop area to look around  and assess his comfort level before actually sitting to eat.  You could always have a "back-up" dining option, as there are many fabulous quick-service and table-service restaurants at Downtown Disney.

    Have a great trip!
