Hi Gladys!
Welcome to our Hundred Acre Wood, also known as planDisney. Yes, it’s an enchanted neighborhood where we like to dole out planning advice and help Guests make their Disneyland dreams come to life. So let's get bouncing as Tigger likes to say as we chat about the Happiest Place on Earth!
So you’re at
Disneyland Park or
Disney California Adventure Park, having a great time on all the attractions, when suddenly, it starts to rain or storm. Total bummer, right? Reminds me of the scene in
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh attraction when “the rain, rain, rain came down, down, down.”
I’ve found that Disney does not issue refunds due to inclement weather. The only exception is for hurricanes, and those don’t usually happen in California. However, no need to turn all Eeyore and get gloomy. Turn that yucky weather into your favor. I’ve found that when it rains, Guests scatter and leave the theme parks. Pack some ponchos (or you can purchase them in the gift shops) and keep on with your park day. If it’s just a shower, lines will be remarkably shorter, and you won’t mind those water rides anymore because you’ll already be wet!
If it gets bad because of thunder or lightning, seek shelter and ride it out until
attractions open up again. Many of them will have to be temporarily paused if there is lightning, especially the outdoor ones.
Be sure to download the
Disneyland app, which will keep you updated on any possible attraction closures or entertainment changes. You can also ask about this information at
Guest Relations at City Hall in Disneyland Park or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park.
Stop back by our Thotful Spot with more questions and I’ll “think, think, think” until I can come up with the answer. Have a TIGGERiffic vacation!
TTFN (Ta-ta for now),
Sherry
