Will there be a race retreat for runners during the 2024 marathon weekend?

    Hi Dale,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you so much for asking us a runDisney question, my fellow Canadian!

Although I love every race weekend, Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend has a special place in my heart. There’s just something extra magical about seeing the classic Disney Characters throughout the course and about watching people conquer all 48.6 miles of the Dopey Challenge… when I’m not, well, Dopey enough to run it myself!

It’s been a while since I’ve seen a formal Race Retreat section available for runners and spectators during a race weekend. While there are some limited “retreat-style” experiences for Club runDisney members at the Race Expo, I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for. I keep hoping that they’ll come back, if only to help runners get a bit of extra pampering before and after their races, but we haven’t gotten any word, yet.

My advice: keep checking the Disney Parks Blog and the runDisney Blog in the coming months. If there are any Race Retreat developments, that’s where you’ll hear about them first.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. I’m always thrilled to be able to help out a fellow runDisney runner!

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne

Hi, I’m Lynne from Montreal, Quebec, Canada! I’m a working mom who enjoys snuggles with my son and my husband, who has been my sweetheart since 1997. We’ve been lucky enough to experience several milestones in Walt Disney World, including our wedding and honeymoon in 2009. As Disney Vacation Club members, we often plan trips for large, and sometimes even multi-generational, groups to come and enjoy the fun with us. Learn More About Lynne
