I have the race retreat and my mom, who will be spectating alone, has the platinum chEAR squad. What's the best strategy for her on PHM day (when should she leave, where should she go, etc) - it doesn't seem practical for her to come with me to the start.

Hi Erika!

You and your mom have made great choices! The Race Retreat tent and Platinum ChEAR Squad package really enhance the race day experience.

If your mom doesn't want to go with you to the start line, she can take a runDisney bus from your resort to the starting area whenever she wants. The buses will suspend running for about an hour when the race starts, so she may want to hop on before that. You will get a schedule with bus times closer to race day.

The Race Retreat tent will open to her and other platinum chEAR squad members at 6:00 a.m. She can either hang out, eat, and wait for you to finish in the tent, or she can find a good place to see you on the course. My favorite place is inside the Magic Kingdom. This will be around mile 5, and as a member of the platinum chEAR squad, she will have access to a preferred, reserved viewing spot in front of Cinderella Castle! It's breathtaking!

She can take the monorails from the Epcot parking lot to the Magic Kingdom for this. (or if you are staying in a monorail resort, she can take the monorails from your resort to Magic Kingdom AND the Epcot parking lot where the start/finish area is)

She will also have access to preferred seating in the bleachers at the finish line, and she can then meet you back inside the Race Retreat tent when you are done racing. This will be a great place for you to cool off, and you can both grab something good to eat and drink before heading out for the rest of your magical day!
