Can we take quinceañera dress inside Disneyland parks for photos? If yes would we have to bring an extra pack of clothes? The dress also drags but with a change of clothes would that be okay?

Greetings, Ren, and welcome to planDisney! First of all, congratulations on this exciting time for your family! I love that you’re looking to include the Disneyland Resort in your celebration. To help you plan a truly magical experience, I’d like to share a few details about park guidelines and some possible alternatives.

According to the Guest attire policies listed in the Disneyland Resort Rules, clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in theme parks. The rules also state that admission may be denied to anyone wearing attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests, which likely includes ball gowns and other formal wear. Additionally, photography for commercial purposes is not allowed in the theme parks, so depending on who was planning to take the photos, that may have been another issue. I know this news comes as a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer, but I have some ideas for you.

Did you know that the Disneyland Resort offers Quinceañera celebrations? You can contact the expert planning team who could help dream up the perfect event, from floral arrangements to Character surprises and even a ride in Cinderella's enchanted coach! There would be many picture-perfect memories with that special Disney touch.

Outside of that, a day in the theme parks would be a fun way to celebrate this special time. Leave time to have photos taken at the various PhotoPass locations. I'd suggest a more casual dress that doesn't drag on the floor. It may even be fun to shop for a unique Disney dress at the Resort – The D-Lander Shop and World of Disney in the Downtown Disney District are good places to check. A complimentary “I'm Celebrating” button would also make a fun photo prop. You can pick one up at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. or at many retail shops.

Check to see if PhotoPass excursions are being offered when you visit. This is a popular, free photo session lasting between 10 and 15 minutes, during which a PhotoPass photographer will take a series of photos in one area of the park. This cannot be booked in advance and is subject to availability. PhotoPass photographers can typically be found roaming areas of the park, such as Main Street, U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland, after 12 p.m. If you encounter one of them, you can request a Photo Excursion. With the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you'd enjoy unlimited downloads of PhotoPass photos all day long. Alternatively, you can purchase Disney PhotoPass+ One Day to download photos.

It could also be sweet to get some special gifts from the Resort. A pair of personalized Mickey ears, an embroidered Spirit Jersey, an engraved glass, a special tiara – there are lots of options! Definitely stop in the Crystal Arts shop on Main Street, U.S.A.

Ren, I hope some of these ideas have brought a smile to your face and inspired some celebratory plans for your family. Pixie dust is in the air! If you have any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
