What are the quietest, most relaxing places to stay in Disney. We want to make sure we have somewhre to retreat to after a busy day. We have 3 boys: ages 4, 12 and 10. It is out first time to Disney. We wold like it to be relaxing. Thanks,

    Hi Michele,

In my opinion, Disney's Wilderness Lodge is the most relaxing resort at Walt Disney World. (It also happens to be my favorite and the least expensive hotel in the Magic Kingdom area of Walt Disney World).  Although it's only a few short minutes from the Magic Kingdom by bus or boat, it feels totally secluded because of the way it is nestled along Bay Lake.  Themed according to the National Park Service lodges of the Pacific Northwest of a century ago, this hotel is a rustic retreat that serves as a buffer from the high energy activities families experience in the theme parks.  My blood pressure drops every time I sit in the cozy chairs of the stunning lobby, listening to the strains of Western music playing softly in the background.  I guarantee that this will be an amazing place for your family to refresh and recharge at any time of day.

That's not to suggest, however, that this place is boring.  Far from it!  Little boys, in particular, love this resort.  You can rent bicycles here to ride over to Fort Wilderness, watch a geyser erupt hourly in the resort's backyard, participate in a rubber duck race at Silver Springs Creek Pool, and enjoy a raucous and delicious meal at Whispering Canyon Cafe.  But if you need a place to chill out, you can find many ways to do that here.

Let us know if you have any additional questions as you plan your magical first adventure to Walt Disney World!  You're going to love it!
