    We have a quick trip planned to Disney next week and the forecast is calling for rain the one day we are at Magic Kingdom. Do most of the attractions stay open in inclement weather? What about parades and other entertainment? Thank you!

    I'm headed to Walt Disney World next week too! Perhaps I'll see you there!

    Rain is not much of a worry when you're at the Happiest Place On Earth! Most attractions do remain open, even in the rain. If lightning is detected in the area, some outdoor attractions may close down for safety however there are plenty of indoor attractions and shows to keep on enjoying the magic!

    Stage shows like those in front of Cinderella Castle and over at the stage in Tomorrowland may not occur as planned during rain. Often, the parade(s) do still occur even in a light rain shower. Other times, if the rain is significant, the parade may be cancelled, or just postponed, to ensure the performers' safety of course! If a parade or show is cancelled or postponed, a loudspeaker announcement will usually be made to inform Guests of the change of plans or new time.

    Should you find yourself unprepared in a little sprinkling of liquid, Florida sunshine, simply pop into your nearest merchandise location. Cast Members will have rain ponchos in child and adult sizes at the ready, along with umbrellas in some locations. My kids love to slip on a poncho and carry on with all the fun, stomping in the occasional puddle along the way as we whiz from attraction to attraction!
