Hi - I have the Quick Service plan as part of my holiday deal and I’m trying to decide whether to upgrade to the regular Dining Plan or go for the Deluxe. Is anything on the menus excluded from the plans? I arrive on the 19th so have to decide fast!

Hi Hilary! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Your holiday over to the Walt Disney World Resort is almost here and I know you must be SO excited! I always know how many days stand between me and my next vacation at this magical destination.

There are a few differences between the Disney Dining Plan and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. Both plans give you two snack entitlements per person, per night of your Disney Resort hotel stay, but the Disney Dining Plan gives you one Quick-Service meal entitlement and one Table-Service meal entitlement and the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan provides three Table-Service meal entitlements per person, per night of your stay. My family has used the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan the most because we like having a lot of Table-Service flexibility. Since we get so many Table-Service meal entitlements, we can use our snacks for breakfast items on the dining plans like a piece of fruit or yogurt, then have a Table-Service restaurant reservation for lunch, followed by a Fine/Signature restaurant (these require two Table-Service meal entitlements per person) reservation for dinner.

Another difference in these plans is that the Disney Dining Plan lunch and dinner selections include one entree and one dessert (or one full buffet) per person, while the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan includes one appetizer, one entree and one dessert (or one full buffet) per person. So, you do get a bit more food when choosing the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan. Some Guests find this to be too much food, but my family likes the ability to try a variety of things! A few items may be excluded on the menus or require more meal entitlements like prix fixe menus or beverage flights, but I've always found that almost everything is included! Happy dining!
