I have the quick service dining plan for an upcoming trip in October. I understand that the kids are to order off of the kids menu. Many of these say comes with grapes, yogurt, and milk. Does that mean they don't get to choose their drink and desert?

Hello Alicia!  Thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  I love the Disney Dining Plan and so does my 7 year old daughter.  We are very familiar with the kid's menus around the parks so I thought I'd jump right in.

Kids options at quick service locations vary from restaurant to restaurant.  You are right, many of the options have standard sides and a "healthy" beverage.  If your child isn't interested in these options, ask for a substitution.  My daughter will occasionally ask for fries instead of grapes and she enjoys having a soft drink with her meal.  For the most part, Cast Members are more than happy to make the substitutions.  Also, keep in mind you can purchase food at different counter service locations and still all eat together.  We've all gotten different lunches and then met up at one of the Counter Service locations to eat together.  If your children are looking for some grown up tastes, Be Our Guest Restaurant for lunch at Magic Kingdom is a great option.  My daughter also loves Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney, Fairfax Fare at Disney's Hollywood Studios and we all love hot dogs from Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom.

I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion.  If you have any other questions, I'd love for you to come back and ask me.  Have a great day.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
