Hi! With the quick serve dining plan my understanding is 21+ can get 1 alcoholic beverage with each meal. Are there any substitutions for someone who doesn't drink? Whether it be another snack or bottled beverage (soda or water, etc)?

Welcome back to planDisney, Bethany! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question today. I love the flexibility and convenience of the Disney Dining Plan, and I'm happy to walk you through some of the finer details about exactly how it works.

You're totally right that guests over the age of 21 can choose an alcoholic beverage when available when using the Quick-Service Dining Plan. It's a fun option for those who want to enjoy a beer or specialty cocktail with their meal, especially if you're soaking in the atmosphere at somewhere like Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy's Edge or the Yorkshire County Fish Shop in EPCOT!

But if you don't drink or just aren't in the mood, you're absolutely not required to choose an alcoholic beverage. Instead, you can opt for a non-alcoholic specialty drink, which is often just as much of a treat. Think handcrafted smoothies, milkshakes, lemonade, or even some bottled drinks as well. A regular fountain soda, coffee, or water is also totally acceptable and included in the plan.

One of my favorite tricks is to try something you wouldn't normally grab, like a specialty slushy or themed drink that's unique to the restaurant you're dining at. Some Quick-Service locations even offer specialty drinks in souvenir cups, which may have an added cost, but are still fun to look out for!

So, bottom line: whether you love trying new adult beverages or prefer to stick to something non-alcoholic, you're covered. The Quick-Service Dining Plan is built to be flexible and work for a variety of tastes and preferences, which is part of what makes it so fun and easy to use.

I hope that clears things up, Bethany, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
