Hi Belinda!
Thank you for sending us your magical question, and welcome to planDisney, the sunniest place on the internet! Wow, Belinda, having a timeshare in Florida truly sounds magical! As a Canadian resident, being able to stay in Florida sounds like the ultimate dream come true, especially for Disney fans like us. And beautiful, sunny days are not the only perk Florida residents can benefit from!
When it comes to Florida-resident discounts, Disney typically requires specific types of documentation to prove your residency. When it comes to
theme park tickets, you have to either provide a valid Florida driver's license, a valid Florida state-issued ID card, or a valid Florida-based military ID. If you do not have a state ID, you can also show proof of current mortgage, bills, registration, policies or mail from financial institutions or government agencies. If you are using one of the documents that is not a state ID, make sure that these documents are no longer than two months old. Then, you should be able to purchase your tickets online and upload your proof of residence by filling out the "Your Florida Resident Information" form or completing the "Customize Your Tickets" step. In the case of
Disney Cruise Line, you will have to either provide a government-issued ID, a driver's license, a utility bill or a renter's lease agreement. If you have any questions about this process or if a particular document would be accepted, I suggest reaching out to a Disney Cast Member via chat, email or phone, as they will be happy to help.
Once your theme park tickets and reservations are in order, plan a visit during the
World's Most Magical Celebration. Indeed, the Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and what better way to celebrate spending more time in Florida than by joining in on the EARidescent fun! Indeed, this celebration includes so many unique offerings that will only be available during the 50th anniversary, which will end in the spring of 2023. Firstly, I highly suggest visiting the theme parks after sunset as the park icons light up in an EARidescent glow, unlike anything you have ever seen before at the Walt Disney World Resort. Also, keep an eye out for golden statues of your favourite Disney characters throughout the theme parks and different decorations for the occasion. Second, I would highly suggest looking through the list of
tasty treats available for the anniversary. Personally, I loved the Glimmer and Shimmer Pineapple Mousse at Trolley Cart Cafe in Disney's Hollywood Studios, but the hand-dipped Mickey Premium Bar is a classic. Indeed, no Disney vacation is complete without Mickey-shaped treats! Lastly, check out both new nighttime spectaculars
Disney Enchantment and
Harmonious. Playing every night at Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT respectively, they have already become some of my favourite firework shows. At Magic Kingdom Park, try to grab a spot in the middle of Main Street USA for some extra magic!
I hope this was helpful, Belinda, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your next Disney vacation! If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your next visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. You're as welcome as can be!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
