Hi Moms! Quick question...if I am staying at Old Key West but have dining reservations at Fort Wilderness, could I drive myself and park, or will I have to pay to park? Can resort guests park personal cars at other resorts? THANK YOU!

Hello there, Nicole. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

You are going to love staying at Disney's Old Key West Resort, it's so charming! The Sandcastle Pool is a favorite of mine. I love how the opening where the slide dumps out looks like a Mickey. After a long day at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, I love a good soak in one of the whirlpools or just relaxing in the dry sauna that's located inside of the lighthouse.

I think you'll be happy to know that Guests with dining reservations receive complimentary day parking at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. When you arrive at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you'll be stopped at the security guard shack. They'll scan your MagicBand to confirm your dining reservation and verify your i.d. so be sure to have that handy. After everything checks out they will direct you to where you can park. At Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, you won't be able to drive all of the way to the dining location you are eating at. You'll need to park in the main parking lot at the front of the resort and then take the internal shuttle to where you'll be dining.

If you didn't want to take your car, the easiest way to get there would be to take a bus from your resort to Magic Kingdom Park. Once there you would need to head to the boat launch area which is really close to where the buses drop off and board a bus for Disney's Fort Wilderness. When you arrive you'll actually be within walking distance of the restaurants so you won't need to use the internal shuttle.

I hope this helps get you to where you need to go. If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
