Quick Question here..for a counter service meal would that be somthing like a hamburger, fries and a pop?? could you give me some examples they provide? Thanks so much guys, heading to Disney in January 09:):) Take care!!

Counter service meals typically refer to any locations where food and/or beverage is purchased without a waiter or waitress.

At allearsnet.com, visit the dining section for a look at menus on WDW property. Next to many of the menus, it will indicate whether the location is counter service, a character meal, etc.

For instance, in the Magic Kingdom, Casey's Corner serves up hot dogs and beverages. Pinocchio Village Haus has pizza, nuggets, salad and beverages.

I usually plan my WDW itinerary before making dining reservations. Once my table service meals are in place, I then look at the menus at the above site to determine where we might eat our other meals.

This helps me to budget our meal expenses and to be prepared to lead my family to a nearby counter service meal no matter what park we are touring. It's more stressful to figure out where to dine when everyone is already hungry.

I usually print the menus that seem to work well for us and bring them with me. If we are touring the Animal Kingdom, for example, I'll grab the Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ menus to have handy on an AK day.

This system has served us well for years. Often we'll even decide before we leave our hotel as to where we are headed for a counter service meal. This really helps at our resort too. If my husband has offered to walk up to the food court and bring breakfast back to our room, we can just look at the menu that I printed out to make our choices.

Looking at the menus is a huge part of planning my WDW vacations!
