Hi Moms! Quick question... we arrive on 20th of June to Disney's AofA. My daughter turns 10 on the 21st of June. Is she still classed as a child for park tickets and disney dining plan?

    Hi Olivia,

You are in luck! Since your daughter will still be 9 on the first day of your Walt Disney World vacation, she will be considered a child for the duration of your visit in terms of tickets and the Disney Dining Plan. Even if her age won't change in Walt Disney World's eyes officially, she certainly should grab a free Happy Birthday button at Guest Relations at any theme park and celebrate her double-digit birthday to the fullest.

When you wear the button, you get lots of good wishes from cast members and other guests, and often you even receive a special treat or surprise.

A birthday at Walt Disney World is special all on its own but if you are looking for a treat, you might want to check out the birthday celebration section of Disney Floral & Gifts. Or think about doing a tour or other unusual event as a family. One of my favorites is the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom, a behind the scenes tour for guests 8 and older.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Olivia. Please check back again if we can help with other planning questions. We're happy to help make your family's vacation magical.
