I have 3 questions - does Disney World do anything special on Mothers Day? How do you maximize the birthday fun (daughter turns 13 while we are there)? When you are in the parks are you able to leave and come back in (going for a smoke break)? Thanks.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tracy! Thanks for stopping by with your vacation planning questions. Just like Cinderella's Fairy Godmother, we are here to help!

First, let's talk about Mother's Day! While I think we mothers should be regularly showered with candy and flowers, I am happy to report that there are a few special "extras" around Walt Disney World to celebrate the day. For example, if you have a sweet tooth, check out Minnie's Mother's Day Chocolate Party at Disney's Beach Club Resort. Indulging in chocolate treats, fondue and milkshakes sounds like a perfect afternoon to me!

Now... if you would rather shop, Disney Springs is the place to be! Take a look at all of the offerings available while you will be on vacation. Tracy, I would also recommend keeping a close eye on the Disney Parks Blog. Last year they posted a full list of restaurants with special meals for Mother's Day!

Second, since you'll be celebrating your daughter's official transition into a teenager, make sure to grab a complimentary Birthday button. While it may seem like a trivial item, it's so fun when Cast Members say Happy Birthday and you never know when Tinker Bell will step in and sprinkle a little pixie dust for her. Another great way to maximize the birthday fun is to order a custom cake! These can be delivered as a surprise to select Walt Disney World restaurants or your Disney Resort Hotel.

Finally, to your question about leaving the park, you absolutely are able to leave and re-enter. I would suggest reviewing the Designated Smoking Areas before your trip, so you know exactly where to go!

Tracy, I hope this helps as you are looking ahead to your Magical vacation. Come on back and see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with any other questions you might have!
