Hello there, Mary Ann. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question
If you purchase a
standard theme park ticket, it allows you entry to one park per day. If you upgrade your tickets to include the
park hopper option, you are able to enter multiple Walt Disney World Theme Parks in one day. Whichever ticket option you end up purchasing, you do need to still make
park pass reservations for. If you upgrade to the park hopper option, you will only need to make park pass reservations for the first theme park you'd like to visit each day.
Park hopping just recently returned to us at the start of this year and does look a little bit different than it did before. Here's how it is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must make park pass reservations for the initial theme park they wish to visit each day
- On the day of, Guests will need to scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to other Walt Disney World Theme Parks
- Guests do not need to make multiple park pass reservations for one day when park hopping. Just that initial one each day
- Park hopping hours are now from 2:00 p.m. until each park closes in the evening
- To make park hopping a little bit easier for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is being provided at this time
Be sure to take a look at the Walt Disney World
availability calendar before purchasing your Walt Disney World Theme Park tickets to make sure there is availability for the parks you'd like to visit. The calendar is broken down into three categories - Guests with a resort stay, Guests with theme park tickets only and Annual Passholders. Each category has different availability, so be sure you are viewing the calendar that most pertains to you. Either ticket option is a good choice, it just depends on how you prefer to spend time at the theme parks. I am partial to park hopping. I love enjoying one park in the morning, the pool around lunchtime and then heading over for snacks and drinks around The World Showcase at Epcot around dinnertime. It's my perfect Disney day.
Mary Ann, I know whichever ticket option you choose you are going to have a great time. Keep in mind, either way, you will need to make park pass reservations each day of your vacation. If you have any other questions before your trip, please feel free to come back and
ask me. I'm here to help. Enjoy!
