Kim from MI Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have 2 questions. Our check in date is October 12th. When can we make dining reservations? My little boy also has autism and I heard there is some sort of pass that we can get that will help w the trip. Could you tell me about this and how I get it?

Hey Howdy Hey Kim and welcome to planDisney!

Well, Kim, sounds like the planning for your upcoming trip is coming along nicely! Getting prepped and ready for the big day to make your dining reservations is the next step that will continue to fill up your My Disney Experience app in the Future Plans section. I love looking at that section before trips and seeing what Magical experiences await us for our upcoming trip. Thank you so much for your questions about dining and your son, let's talk about the details of each!

To make advanced dining reservations, these become available to you 60 days from your date of arrival. Once you hit the 60-day mark, you can also make reservations up to 10 days in the future, which should cover dining reservations for your whole trip! With a quick Google question, it looks like your big date is Saturday, August 13. Dining reservation ability usually opens at 6:00 a.m. EST so make sure to get on early and get the reservations you wanted. You have the option of getting online and booking through your My Disney Experience account online or you can also do this from your My Disney Experience app on your smart device as well.

With regards to your son, Disney does have a program, Disability Access Service (DAS), that is available to help those that may have difficulty waiting in stand-by lines. To apply for this service you can do it in one of two ways. You can do this with a video interview from your home with a Cast Member that will talk with you and your son and let you know if you qualify for this service. You can also do so in person when you get to the parks at any Guest Service location. Seeing that you have the option to do this before you leave, let's talk about the benefit of doing so.

If you can interview and then are approved for DAS with the video interview, you then have access to DAS advanced planning. With this benefit, you will be given a text-only number in which you will communicate with Cast Members to book 2 advanced DAS selection windows for attractions in the parks you will be visiting that day. You will do this before your park day and have them already booked! You will also get one rolling DAS pass that you will get access to booking if you are approved for the service through your My Disney Experience app. With this service, you will be able to further reduce the time you are waiting in lines and spend more time enjoying the parks!

I hope this information helped get answers to dining and some information on DAS. Good luck with the continued planning of your trip and just know you have a friend in us here at planDisney, so stop back if you have any further questions!

    Happy planning,

    Nick
