Cowabunga, Eranne! And Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I hope your vacation is off to a great start!
Typhoon Lagoon is the ultimate for a splash-tastic day, and when you rent a Beachcomber Shack, you're guaranteed to have fun-in-the-sun. I've had the opportunity to enjoy a great day at Typhoon Lagoon in a Beachcomber Shack (Cabana), so I'm excited to share my experience with you.
The flooring is a concrete pad that is not elevated, it is relatively flush with the ground. This does mean it's going to have a fair amount of sand, especially as the day goes by and your family and the Cabana Attendant walk to and from the cabana; all guest lounge areas, including Beachcomber Shacks, are located in sandy beach-like areas.
For me, having a comfortable "home base" to return to for a rest out of the sun was one of my favorite aspects of having a cabana, especially with three children. It also made it very convenient to have an attendant assist us when we needed food and beverages items. If you're planing on enjoying a full day at Typhoon Lagoon, having younger ones like you do, a cabana will be very helpful in adding to our overall experience.
I'm also hoping you haven't reached the water park day of your vacation yet! If so, perhaps this information will be helpful for a future visit. Please let me know if you have any additional questions, Eranne! You can reach out to me directly.
Surf's up!
