Family Checking into Starcruiser

My question is about transportation from the Starcruiser (Jan 5- 7,2023) to Epcot 1/7 to Bay Lake Towers 1/7. Should we use Disney transportation and drop our bags first? Will it be faster to rent a car? Our goal is to minimize travel time to enjoy Epcot.

    Hi Nora,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! How exciting to hear that you’ll be traveling on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and coming back to earth to enjoy some more Walt Disney World Resort fun!

When it comes to getting to and from the Starcruiser Terminal, you’ll need to either drive there or use a rideshare service like Lyft to make it to your voyage. There are no Disney transportation shuttles that run to and from the Terminal at this time.

Booking a rental car will be completely up to you and your party’s needs. I know some families like the flexibility of being able to go off property as needed. If you decide to go that route, you can use the Car Rental option at the Car Care Center by Magic Kingdom Park. From the airport, you could ride directly there to pick up your car or pick it up from the Orlando International Airport and head straight to the Starcruiser. Keep in mind that you’ll want to book your car online in advance to make sure you get the best car for your party.

Once your journey is complete with the Starcruiser, if you decide that is the best time to end your rental, you can drop off your car at the Car Care Center. Next, you’d use Walt Disney World Transportation to head to your hotel to drop off your bags at your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, and head to EPCOT.

Remember that if you’d rather not choose the rental car option you could simply use a rideshare company. You’d need one trip from the Orlando International Airport to the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser Terminal. Then you’d need another trip from the Terminal to your hotel to drop off your bags. After that you’d be able to use the Disney World Resort Transportation, until you journey back to the airport! If you're looking for minimal travel, this would be it!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is useful as you make the final preparations for your Walt Disney World Resort trip. If you have any other planning or vacation questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
