Hi, my question is about the swimming pools at the AOA resort. As we plan to be in the parks all day, we wonder if we will be able to swim in the pools late in the evening? Are there specified hours? Thanks so much. Planning for the month of April.

Welcome Foolish Mortals and thanks for visiting us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Nancy, I’m so excited to hEAR about your upcoming stay at my personal favorite Disney Resort Hotel.

Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is where you can find me when I visit Walt Disney World Resort. Between the larger than life Characters at each section, the incredibly themed rooms and the Quick-Service dining option, Landscape of Flavors, there’s nowhere else I want to stay. Not to mention the newly added Disney Skyliner that can transport you by aerial gondolas to and from Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot!

The Big Blue Pool is the largest pool at Walt Disney World Resort! So I’m sure you all are ready to just keep swimming in this Finding Nemo themed pool. As of now, a Cast Member has informed me that the pool hours for April are 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. however, hours are subject to change so be sure to double check once you arrive.

My family always wants to swim but never wants to leave the parks early enough to swim! What we usually do when we visit is we add a “break day” in the middle of our stay. On this day we usually enjoy the Resort’s amenities, specifically the pool, and just relax and hang out. If you are able to, I highly recommend adding in an extra day to do this. There is so much to do and see outside of the parks, that it’s nice to have a day to do that! My husband claims that “break day” is his favorite because of the slower pace we take and most of the time, we find that we have ventured off to a different Disney Resort Hotel to explore and dine at. Of course I highly recommend making a dining reservation if this is something you plan on doing.

Have a great time exploring The Big Blue!
