Hiya Mercedes!
Thank you for sending us your question, and welcome to planDisney, the most magical place on the internet! Oh my goodness, Mercedes, your magical vacation is coming so soon! Can you believe that in less than two weeks, you will be at the Walt Disney World Resort, soaking in all the magic? I am honoured that you decided to make us a part of your planning process, and I am so incredibly excited for you and your Ohana to experience all the Disney parks have to offer!
One of my favourite things about the Disney Parks is that there is truly something for everyone to enjoy. Indeed, the Disney Parks aspire to a place where everyone, no matter their background or circumstances, can enjoy the Disney magic and focus on making incredible memories with their loved ones. This inclusion, one of Disney's five pillars, can be seen in Disney's variety of
services to accommodate various disabilities or needs. While there are so many things that can help your family have the best vacation ever, a popular service is the
Disability Access Service, which allows you to wait for your favourite attractions without staying in line. This service is perfect for anyone who cannot remain in a conventional line for various reasons other than mobility issues. There are two ways to register for this service: first, you can register in person with a Guest Relations Cast Member at any of the four theme parks. Second, you can instead
schedule a live video call with a Cast Member online. These methods also allow you to make advanced selections of certain attractions, but they have to be done at least two days in advance. Then, you can select the attractions you would like to visit on your
My Disney Experience app or by visiting one of the Cast Members at the entrance of the said attraction. You will receive a return time upon which you will be able to enter through the Lightning Lane entrance. If this system sounds like something that would benefit your family, I highly suggest registering for it!
Now, let's talk about some of the fun things you and your family will be able to experience together without having to wait in line! You will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during one of my favourite times of the year: the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. This festival brings so many unique activities, and it is sure to make your stay that much more special. Something I loved doing on my last trip to EPCOT was the Spike's Pollen-Nation Exploration scavenger hunt. All you have to do is buy your map and stickers at select merchandise locations and then find all the statues of Spike the Bee around the World Showcase. Plus, you get a fun prize at the end! This activity also allows you to go around all the food booths and try new offerings. Some of my favourites include the Corn on the Cob at Flavor Full Kitchen and the Coconut Tres Leches from La Isla Fresca. We may not talk about Bruno, but we have to talk about this delicious Encanto-themed booth!
I hope this was helpful, Mercedes, and that you and your Ohana will have the best day ever on your upcoming Disney vacation. If you have any other questions in the time leading up to your visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. All our panelists are fantastical and magical, and we'll be happy to answer any questions you might have!
Have a magical day,
Ariane
