Hi! Question about rider swap. Let's say parent 1 and child 1 has a FP for Flight of Passage, can parent 1 get a rider swap card thing for parent 2 and parent 2 can save their FP? Or does parent 1 have to be in standby line for the rider swap to work?

Hi, Nicole! Thanks for stopping by with another great question for us! This past year, Walt Disney World Resort enhanced the Rider Switch Service by making it completely digital. Previously, families did receive paper Rider Switch tickets (similar to the old paper FastPasses) that could be redeemed at various times during their Resort experience. Now, guests have their Rider Switch Service assigned return times stored via their Disney Theme Park Ticket or MagicBand linked to their My Disney Experience account.

This past November, I was able to check out how the new service works while on a trip with my sister's family, including her one-year-old daughter. I so appreciated having all of our Rider Switch times linked to our My Disney Experience accounts because it was so easy to keep up with our return times! We just simply pulled up the mobile app and there it was! No more paper tickets to misplace or lose ( I can't tell you the number of times I did that!).

As the terms of use have been explained to us, if Party One experiences the attraction via the FastPass+ queue, then all members of the party should have made a FastPass+ selection for the attraction. Since the whole system is now digital, Cast Members do have the ability to double check that all guests in the party have a FastPass+ selection in their account when they scan to link the Rider Switch. I do recommend that if you plan to utilize the FastPass+ queue for Party One, then you make a FastPass+ for the adult who stays behind with the non-rider. If Party One is just planning to hop in the standby queue, then no worries about planning a FastPass+ for Party Two. The Rider Switch will serve as a FastPass+ for them when they ride the attraction later.

I hope this helps you plan a magical day with your little one! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
