Welcome to planDisney, Michelle. We answer all kinds of
Disney vacation planning questions and I'm happy to answer yours today!
Theme park tickets to the
Walt Disney World Resort are nontransferable and nonrefundable. However, you can usually apply the amount you paid for your tickets to a new purchase of tickets in the future. Just note that if the new tickets are more expensive than the original tickets, you will be responsible for paying the difference. If they are less expensive, no refunds will be given for the difference. It's also important to know that if your tickets are part of a
vacation package, which includes both theme park tickets
and a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel reservation, the cancellation and refund policies are a bit different. With a vacation package, you are usually able to receive a full refund (minus any third-party fees) if you cancel your trip 30 or more days before your arrival date. If canceled between 2 and 30 days before your arrival date, you can usually get a refund minus your deposit. If it's canceled 1 day or less before your arrival, no refunds will be given. Please refer to the
Terms & Conditions page of the website for more details.
Michelle, if you end up canceling or postponing, I hope that you make your way back to the resort sometime in 2024. Not only will
Tiana's Bayou Adventure likely be opening in
Magic Kingdom Park later in the year, but
there are a bunch of new and exciting updates coming to the resort in 2024 and beyond! And if you want a new restaurant to experience, there are two I'm most looking forward to and you may want to check out. The first is
The Cake Bake Shop Restaurant by Gwendolyn Rogers on
Disney's BoardWalk and the second is
Summer House on the Lake in
Disney Springs. As if I needed another reason to visit these two already wonderful locations!
