Hi there, Sharon! So happy to see you found your way to us here at planDisney. We truly love helping fellow Guests with their questions, so let's get right to yours and see if we can light your path with pixie dust!
I'm so sorry to hear you are having some issues securing additional reservations for
Disneyland Park for your date. It sounds like you are purchasing
Park Hoppers, which means you are asked to choose a park where you will start your day with hopping available from 1 p.m. onwards. While not ideal, if you do purchase additional tickets to start at
Disney California Adventure, you would be able to reunite your party at 1 p.m. and enjoy either park together for the remainder of the day.
I wish I could just wave my magic wand and open up the reservation calendar for you! My best advice is to tell you that Guests are constantly changing their plans and canceling and rescheduling reservations. I just did it myself this morning! The
reservation calendar is updated live with these changes, so reservations can open up! If you grab on to some faith, trust, and patience and continue to check, you may see some openings for your date. Be sure to toggle between the One Park Per Day and Park Hopper calendar as each has its own set of reservations.
If you purchase the additional Park Hoppers to start at Disney California Adventure, I would go ahead and keep checking the calendar as well. If you see openings for Disneyland Park in the Park Hopper reservation calendar, you can cancel and reschedule your own reservation to change the starting park! I do recommend that you've got some fast fingers here as there may be other Guests looking to do the same. Sometimes reservations can go quickly and it looks like May is shaping up to be a busy month!
Let's say your party ends up with Park Hoppers starting in two different parks. While I know this would not be ideal, I'd love to suggest a day that maybe starts at lunchtime and rolls right through to park closing so that you can enjoy most of the day together. The nights are full of magic once again with the return of nighttime spectaculars
World of Color in Disney California Adventure Park and the
Main Street Electrical Parade (making its grand return for its 50th anniversary!) in Disneyland Park so there is plenty to do and see once the sun sets! Each has two showtimes so if you time it just right, you can catch both! Definitely check out the
Foodie Guide ahead of your visit to plan out a few must-haves. I've got my eyes on the Electric Sweet and Salty Popcorn ... in a Light-Up Elliot Popcorn Bucket, of course!
Sharon, I know this was not the news you were hoping for, but I do hope it was helpful! We are always here for you at
planDisney if you have any more planning questions. I always remind myself that no matter how a Disney day unfolds, each is full of magic and memories that last a lifetime.
Keeping wishing on those stars,
Tara
