I have a question. I am planning a solo trip to Walt Disney world for October 8th through the 13nth. Could you kindly supply me with a packing list? I.am not sure what to pack.

    Hiya Peggy,

Welcome to planDisney! I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort in the Fall. The weather is fantastic, and I love attending Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and EPCOT’s International Food and Wine Festival!

Peggy, any quick search online will give you numerous lists of what you should pack for a Walt Disney World Resort trip, but those lists can be almost too extensive. When I go on a solo trip to Walt Disney World Resort, I like to pack the following items alongside my typical clothing and toiletries:

    1. Good pair of walking shoes: I know Cinderella loves her glass slippers, but with the amount of walking you do at the Most Magical Place on Earth, you will want something sturdier. Ensure you get a pair with strong support and break them in a little before your visit.

    2. A reusable water bottle: hydration is essential during your visit, and even in the Fall, it can get sweltering. Having a reusable water bottle will be an asset!

    3. A small backpack: Most attractions at Walt Disney World Resort let you bring your bag on the ride, which is perfect when traveling solo. I like to carry one with my wallet and other essentials in it so I don’t have to keep track of them in my pockets.

    4. Rain Gear: I know everyone says Florida is the Sunshine State, but it is also well known for afternoon showers. I never leave home without a poncho or mini umbrella to stay dry during the rain. Also, don’t forget an extra pair of socks; soggy feet can ruin a Theme Park day, so extra socks are an asset.

    5. Portable Charging Bank: I use my phone at Walt Disney World for all sorts of things, including mobile ordering, checking wait times, and reserving my next Disney Genie+ selection. My mobile device tends to drain by midday, so I carry a portable charging bank rather than running back to my resort room (which I still love doing sometimes to enjoy the pool).

    6. Disney Gift Card: One other item I always have with me when I visit is a Disney Gift Card. I love having Disney Gift Cards because they help me stick to my budget. You can use them for merchandise, dining, resort hotel stays, and so much more! Before each trip, I estimate how much I will spend during my visit and then purchase gift cards for that amount.

    7. MagicBand+: If you have a MagicBand or MagicBand+, don’t forget to pack it with you. You can use your mobile device and Disney MagicMobile for entry, but I always like to have my MagicBand handy in case my mobile device dies.

I hope this was helpful, Peggy. Before I let you go, please come back and see me if you have any additional questions. I would happily help you prepare for your solo trip like a pro and have the most magical vacation.

    Happy Planning,

    Ashley F.
