My question would be about the new magicband's. We have a mini vacation coming up in December and received our bands. We don't live far from Disney so we also take day trips so would the bands become our new annual passes and stay active after the trip?

Hi Jason,

I love being close enough to the Walt Disney World resort to pop in for an afternoon, a day or a meal! I'm happy to hear that you are, too.

The new MagicBands are still in the testing phase, but at this point, I and others I know have been able to use the bands as you describe -- in place of our hard plastic annual passes on day trips that don't involve a resort stay. Simply tap your band at the entrance point and in you go.

I recommend that you still bring the annual pass card in case there are any questions and to be sure you get any discounts the annual pass qualifies you for.
