Hey there Chambolyn and welcome back to planDisney!
I hope my explanation of EPCOT's many wonderful festivals has you ready to book your next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort to visit one. I'm glad to hear you're a returning Guest with at least one MagicBand already in your arsenal. I may or may not have a box full of them in varying colors at home. And I'll be adding another in just a few days when
MagicBand+ makes its debut on July 27th. For now, let's talk about the one you've got and how to fit your mom for her own magical accessory.
MagicBands have been such a fun part of my vacations since they first appeared. You could use them to open the door of your Disney Resorts Collection hotel, as a way to enter the theme parks, and even as a way to make purchases around the theme parks, hotels, and Disney Springs. If your old one is within 2 years old, bring it back on your next trip. You ought to still be able to wring a bit of pixie dust out of it.
If mom doesn't have one, you have a few different options.
1. She could essentially go without one. She would need to set up
Disney MagicMobile Service to be able to keep her ticket in the digital wallet of her mobile device. She could also use the Unlock Your Door Feature on the My Disney Experience app to open the door of her
Disney Resorts Collection hotel room.
2. You could buy her one either prior to your arrival or at locations around the Walt Disney World Resort upon your arrival.
3. You could take the next step into the future by purchasing a MagicBand+ for both of you. This new offering has all of the same features you know and love and so many more. Interact with the 50th Anniversary statues all over the theme parks as well as with the nighttime spectaculars! Plus it's rechargeable so you can keep the magic going.
Chambolyn, really consider what's going to be the best option for your mother from the options I've given you. You really can't go wrong with any of them. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat! Happy planning!
