I'm so sorry your trip was interrupted and you weren't able to finish it out. Life does sometimes intervene, but I hope your emergency is resolved soon for the best. I know our trips have been interrupted by an illness more than once and it's always a challenging situation.
As for the remaining day on your
admission ticket, it sounds as though you're familiar with the Disneyland Resort
policy that remaining tickets on a multi-day ticket must be used within 13 days of first use. While wholly unused tickets retain their value and can be applied to the purchase of a new ticket, there are no refunds for partially used tickets. Since you're not able to return within that 13-day window, that isn't the magical answer you're looking for, I'm sure.
You can certainly call the
Tickets phone line and explain your situation to a friendly Cast Member, who I'm sure would be happy to listen and offer whatever solution they have at their disposal. I always find them to be incredibly helpful.
