I have a question on the Jacuzzi tubs in the Villas. I Was wondering how often they clean the jets on the tubs? I was also wondering if i should just clean them myself and how? I am neurotic about clean, this is why i bought into DVC!

Howdy Richard! I completely understand your question. When we moved into our current home, the jets on our Jacuzzi tub were beyond bad. I'll spare you the details but will let you know that I quickly became well versed in the cleaning of the jets.

Before I get into that, though, I spoke with a Cast Member and the jets are part of the standard cleaning each and every time a guest checks out. I have used the jets before and have never had an issue.

I love that one of the reasons you became a Disney Vacation Club Member is because you want a resort that is clean. The Disney Vacation Club Resorts are always immaculate!!

Even though I am confident you will not need to do this, below is one of the best ways that I have found to clean the jets in the tub.

To begin, ensure the tub is empty and plug the tub.

Pour a quarter cup of dishwasher detergent into the tub, or drop in two dishwasher detergent tablets. Both work well, so use what you have available.  (Most likely, you will have the detergent packets in your villa.)

If you have some available, pour an optional half cup of bleach into the bath for added disinfecting.

Turn on the faucet and fill the whirlpool with hot water. Turn the water off once the jets are covered with water.

Turn on the jets and let the water run through the jets for 10-15 minutes. Drain the bath.

Wipe the bath exterior with a damp cleaning cloth.

Fill your bathtub again with only hot water. Run the jets for 10 more minutes and then drain.

It's a bit time consuming but really quite easy and you should be able to get the jets cleaned while you are unpacking.

Thanks so much for your question and please let me know if you need any further information. Have a magical day and a wonderful time when you visit Walt Disney World!
