My question is about Fantasmic-is it a family show? Would my barely 3-year-old enjoy it? Or would it get too long/late for her? Is it frightening at all?

This was a big decision for us when decided to take our sons for their first time because we, too, were worried about parts of it being frightening.  I would first say that it is intended to be a family show filled with many characters, music, and fun.  However, there are some battles between "good and bad" characters with dark scenes and fire blasts.  When we did decide to go for the first time, we selected a  seat close to the back to reduce the intensity and so we could exit easily if the show was too overwhelming.  Since I don't know your daughter, I can't predict how she will do.  I would encourage you to view some of the film versions of the show that are on youtube.  Another thing I'd like to point out is that the show does fill up quickly, so you may want to plan to arrive early.  That may help in your decision making to determine if you want to wait anywhere from 30-60 minutes first.    As for the show being too late, you may see how your daughter does after a day or two visiting the parks.  Some kids find incredible amounts of energy to go and go day after day while others need extra sleep.
