Welcome Aboard, Cathy!
First of all, how exciting to be going on a Disney Cruise that visits the beautiful port of
Grand Cayman! We visited Grand Cayman on our last Disney voyage, and had a wonderful day enjoying the beauty of this lovely island.
There are two different dolphin experiences offered on Grand Cayman. Since I'm not certain which one you'll be observing, I looked into both of them to find an answer for you. From the information provided, it sounds like the observation areas for the dolphin encounters are approximately 50 feet away from the interaction areas. Hopefully this will be close enough for a good view of your daughter playing with and interacting with these beautiful creatures! I've not seen any indication as to whether or not photography is allowed in the observation areas. For more information, you can always stop by the Port Adventures Desk once onboard the ship - they are happy to help answer any questions you have about your excursions.
No worries if you don't get the "perfect shot" of your daughter with her dolphin friends - professional photographers will be on hand to capture up-close and personal moments in the water. I have some gorgeous photos of my girls sharing a kiss with a dolphin friend - memories we will always treasure!
Please let us know if you have any more questions as you plan your Disney Cruise Line vacation - we're happy to help. Have a magical day! - Diane W.
