Hi Holli and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I have been a Walt Disney World Resort
Annual Passholder for several years and I have no regrets. I have a Platinum Annual Pass and the benefits are fantastic. I receive admission to all four theme parks with no blockout dates. There is a 20% merchandise discount and a dining discount of up to 20% at select locations. Standard parking is included if you drive to the theme parks. My favorite benefit is Disney PhotoPass downloads are included! When you add the benefits together, I think an Annual Pass is a good idea.
There are other discounts and specials available through the
Passholder Program. There is almost always a resort discount available. The Passholder resort room specials are typically a percentage off per night and the percentage changes depending on which resort you choose. You do have to act quickly to secure a Passholder discount at some of the more popular resorts.
There is also a discount when you renew your Annual Pass. Your renewal window is typically 30 days before and 60 days after your expiration date. There is a renewal discount every year but the amount or percentage of the discount is always subject to change. You can purchase discounted Annual Passes if you are a Florida Resident or a Disney Vacation Club Member. These discounted passes have slightly different benefits and blockout dates may apply.
The biggest danger in being an Annual Passholder is the temptation to plan more spur of the moment trips to Walt Disney World Resort! Holli, thank you for visiting us with your question. I hope you'll let us know if you have any more questions about Annual Passes.
Wishing you many magical vacations,
Amy H.
