question dining plan. 2 adults plus 9 yr old. Is it cost effective to purchase a dining plan or pay as we eat? Can it be used at resort hotel or just park? Where can we access prices for park food items or hotel menu? Saying at Port Orleans Fr Q

    Hi Kathy!

First, let me just say that you are going to LOVE the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort!  The rooms are gorgeous and all of them are super convenient to transportation, pools, etc.  The Disney Dining Plan, regardless of which type, is one of my favorite ways to save money while at the parks!

The plan is available throughout the parks, at all of the resorts, Downtown Disney, well just about everywhere at you may get hungry!  I've done my own research on the cost effectiveness of the plan and determined that it is absolutely a great deal for MY family.  However, there are a couple of things to consider before adding the plan.  Do you share entrees?  Do you order water (free!) instead of soda or tea?  Do you skip dessert?  If you answered yes to these questions, you may save money by paying out of pocket.  I would visit AllEars.net and check out the menus and prices if you would like to do a comparison of your own.

I wholeheartedly recommned the Disney Dining Plan and can't imagine visiting Walt Disney World without it.  Have an amazing vacation and keep those questions coming!
