Magical greetings, Lisa, and welcome to planDisney! First, allow me to congratulate you on your recent surgery. That's such a huge step in your life, and you deserve to be celebrated. Thanks for asking your question about dining at Walt Disney World. Food and Disney are two of my favorite subjects, and I'm happy to help you.
I'm thrilled to share that yes, many of the
Quick-Service and
Table-Service restaurants at Walt Disney World will allow you to order from the kids menu. I actually regularly do that at Quick-Service locations, especially if I want just a little something. Portions can be quite generous. However, this isn't possible at all-you-care-to-enjoy places like buffets and where meals are served family-style. It's also not permitted at fixed-price places like
Cinderella's Royal Table.
That being said, Disney is great about making accommodations for
special diets. Many restaurants can prepare meals that adhere to common diet requests such as low-fat, low-carb, low-sodium, no-sugar-added, etc. Once you arrive at each restaurant, discuss your needs with a friendly Cast Member who will be able to share what modifications or accommodations may be made.
During your visit next year,
EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival should be in full swing, or perhaps I should say full bloom. Some of my favorite parts of the festival are the
Outdoor Kitchens, which offer limited edition food and beverage menu items created especially for the festival. These portions are designed for sampling so Guests can try many different things. These might just be perfectly portioned for you and your needs. Definitely check it out!
Lisa, I hope you have a fantastic trip next year. As you get deeper into the planning, we are here for you if you have any other questions. We'd love to help you again.
Grab hold of your dreams!
Melanie
