Hi Alex,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. You’ll be arriving soon in
Pandora – The World of Avatar, and I’m so excited for you to experience the breathtaking views of the Valley of Mo’ara!
There isn’t an easy answer to your question, because both rides are truly spectacular. I rode Na’vi River Journey first, and I honestly found it hard to believe another ride could top it. The boat ride through a bioluminescent forest is so gorgeous, and I’m filled with a sense of peace as I take it all in. The ride’s pace quickens as you approach the Shaman of Songs, and the moment when you arrive is like nothing I’ve experienced.
On my last trip, I was able to catch a ride on Avatar Flight of Passage, and it was so incredible I actually had tears streaming down my face at the end. In this thrilling ride, which you experience through your own Avatar, you climb on a banshee for a stunning tour of the Valley of Mo’ara.
Alex, if you can only choose one of these attractions, I think it comes down to what you want in a ride. Na’vi River Journey is a gentler ride, and I think it’s suitable for all ages. I’ve heard that Avatar Flight of Passage causes mild motion sickness for some guests; if you can handle Soarin’ or Star Tours, I think you will be fine, but just a word of warning. As the Na'vi say: Sivako! This means "rise to the challenge" - and what better way to rise to the challenge than to experience both?
While in Pandora, I highly recommend you stop at
Pongu Pongu for a delicious pineapple Lumpia and a colorful and refreshing Night Blossom frozen beverage.
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
