This question was asked last year and I want to know if it has changed. Does WDW put a hold on your credit card at check-in and if so, how much?

Hi Latricia! I do not know if things have changed from last year but I can tell you what the procedure is for today when it comes to charging your credit card at the resorts.

When you check in your credit card will immediately be charged for the cost of your complete length of stay. If you are staying for three days it will charge for those three nights. If you are staying for ten days you will be charged immediately for those ten nights.

Each resort has a set limit of the amount you can charge to your credit card on incidentals during your stay. I believe moderates limit you to $1000 and deluxe limits are $1500. This does not mean you can't charge more but when your account gets to those numbers they will charge your credit card for that amount. It is good to keep track of what you are spending as well. When you think you might be getting close to the limit of your resort stop by the front desk and have them charge the credit card and bring your balance back to zero. This avoids issues if you are out shopping or dining and they can't charge back to your room because you are over the limit and the resort has not taken care of it.

I hope this helps you understand the Disney billing system.
