Hiya Brenda,
Welcome back to
planDisney! Selecting my daughter’s stroller (or magical carriage, as I secretly refer to it) took a lot of time and careful research, so I’m happy to share more with you.
The great news, Brenda, is there are so many strollers on the market right now that fit my strict criteria that my stroller (Metro+ Compact City stroller from ErgoBaby) is not the only perfect fit! That said I still use mine today since it is suitable for Mouseketeers up to 48 lbs (which was Prince Charming’s only criterion). If you were curious about my specific criteria allow me to share!
The four requirements that went into my decision were:
1. It had to fit into
Walt Disney World Resort Property rules; my everyday stroller was on edge, and I didn’t want to chance it.
2. Not only did it have to adhere to the property rules, but it also needed to be compact enough to travel with. We fly to the Most Magical Place on Earth (and sometimes the Happiest Place on Earth), so I needed something that could fit in our checked suitcase or within the overhead bin (ours does both).
3. I needed it to recline to 180 degrees fully; our daughter was four months old at the time, so it was essential that she could be fully reclined (it’s great for nap time now).
4. My last requirement was that it was easy to collapse and set up with just one person.
I hope this was helpful, Brenda! No matter what stroller you select, I hope it makes your trip a breeze. Before I let you go, don’t forget to bring a stroller sign or something that helps you quickly identify your stroller in stroller parking. At Walt Disney World Resort, the strollers can look similar (or be identical), so having a sign, flag, balloons, ribbons, etc. will save you the stress of trying to find yours in a sea of sameness. Prince Charming initially thought mine was silly until he had to retrieve the stroller after
Kilimanjaro Safaris. He had to apologize and buy me a DOLE Whip afterward.
Happy Planning,
Ashley F.
