Hello, a question about the accessibility of the water parks. My son, aged 10 is a wheelchair user. He can swim but cannot climb stairs or walk far distances. Are rides at the water parks accessible to him? I am most worried about the number of stairs

    Hi, Justine!

A summer visit to Walt Disney World can get a bit hot, so a day at of the waterparks can be a great way to cool off and relax a bit. Just make sure to take hats, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen.

Please read information about wheelchair accommodation at Disney's Blizzard Beach. Hopefully this page will be of help to you. There are many locations that can accommodate wheelchairs so hopefully walking and/or steps will be minimal. Here is similar information if you plan to visit Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.

For your time in the Walt Disney World theme parks, services are available for guests with wheelchairs. Each attraction will be a bit different, so feel free to chat with a Cast Member at the entrance of each line to see how your son can best be accommodated.

Please read through this list of Accessibility FAQs for your Walt Disney World vacation. You may find some of the information to be quite helpful. If there are questions you still need answers to, call (407) 560-2547. Cast Members will be happy to assist you.

Wishing you and your family a magical vacation to Walt Disney World and a "splashing" good time when your visit a waterpark!
